WEEK 58 100 days until my mission ends:(

*Young men forget to pass sacrament to people in the hall* Carol (our investigator): "Aw they missed them. That's okay they'll get the juice. They're on a no carb diet."

Helllllllooooooo beautiful people! Another crazy (emotional rollercoaster) week! We are about halfway through this transfer already...what the heck! I'm approaching my 100 day mark until I return home and I'm freaked out! Anyways, Sister Hunter and I have been working hard and eating alot of candy. Family and friends, don't be surprised when you see me and I look 1000 pounds heavier than when I left.

Since my email last week was so short y'all be in for a treat.

Last Monday I had no time to write since we went to the temple and did a few other things so I apologize! We saw Alberia (on date) that night and she said, "I've been thinking alot about what y'all were saying and I may change." Oh heck ya! The rest of the night we were out contacting people! We ended up having a 20 minute conversation in negative degree weather (I had no coat on) with Parker whose now on a mission! Parker is a recent covert of over a year and he's a rockstar! We then got to have a sleepover with Sister Phillips and Sister Miller before they had to head back to their area. I love them!

Tuesday I was so dead but we kept working of course (we are kinda beasts). We saw the sweet Seavy girls, Heidi and Hailey first! They will both be getting baptized in March and we are so excited! Every time we are over there the girls always give me the biggest hugs and ask me to help them with their prayers and I just live for this stuff. Later that night we had Elder Bredsguard and Elder Jackson come with us to see Randy! Randy won't be able to get baptized as soon as we were hoping but we are hoping for the best! Least to say Randy hit it off with the elders and loved them. Every time we are at Randys he always has me pull out the picture of us two at church and show it to his friends. It's the best, Randy and I are best buds. Before we headed home we stopped by Mickys house and I just love her to pieces! Micky has been meeting with missionaries for a long time now and is so prepared. We hope to keep teaching her and help her to progress.

Wednesday I gave a discussion on part of the restoration! I brought Krispy Kreme donuts as well because I needed something good to make up for my sad discussion! Later on we did some service for sweet Sister Green and then had the most heartbreaking talk I have ever had in my life. At this time, Sister Green is terminal and her body is failing her. I sat there as we were talking crying like a baby as she shared how she is preparing to have peace in her life before she goes. Please keep her in your prayers and her family as well. After we were with Sister Green we went over to see Sister Hodges who we are teaching the missionary discussions to! Sister Hodges is improving so much in her knowledge of the gospel and things are starting to come back to her. She is returning back to the church and has asked for our help as she is doing so!

Thursday we started off our day by helping some family move! We worked at it for a good few hours. Sister Wilson and I made the mistake of wearing vans to help move and we almost died trying to carry things up a ramp of a uhaul with no traction. Always up for an adventure. After all that hard work we decided the best way to reward ourselves was to go to Cafe Rio. The man at Cafe Rio knows my order so that tells you how much we go. It gets better though...I SAW SISTER ANDERSON FROM MY FIRST AREA THERE. I screamed I was so happy. Best day ever! After we left Cafe Rio we went back and did all of our studies and weekly planning. I wasn't feeling the best the day before and even on Thursday so I passed out for a good hour and a half because I was sick as a dog.

Friday we were back to back with lessons and I have never been so tired at the end of a day! We saw Don that day and he's doing great! He's agreed to come to church with us and see what we are all about. He has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. His heart is softening up! After we booked it down to south side to see Tiffany and Bryce. SUCH A GOOD LESSON. We had a good time getting to know Bryce more and his thoughts on baptism. Bryce has been baptized in a few different churches and he expressed that it never changed him. We then got on to talking about the gift of the Holy Ghost. To make a long story short, Bryce agreed to ask Heavenly Father if he should be baptized! Yay! We saw Randy again that night and as usual it was a blast. Lastly we had a meeting with the Senior Missionaries, the Deckers, and I was wiped out after that.

Saturday was just the best. Why? BECAUSE I GOT TO SEE SISTER SCOTT AND SISTER CHRISTENSEN. They showed up to a baptism for a little boy they used to teach. Randy and his friend Shawn came to the baptism so that was good for Randy to see. Shawn was a little wasted so that was a tad embarssing for us but all is well. Saturday morning we got to help judge the pinewood derby cars! They always pick the missionaries to judge what cars look the best so it's not biased. I probley broke a few little boys hearts but what are ya gonna do...

Sunday was madness as always. Sister Hunter and I did a musical number in the Monad ward to shake things up. I sang "Peace in Christ" while Sister Hunter played the piano for me. I'm not a big fan of singing in front of people but I just felt like I needed to so what the heck! As we were out looking for a part member family, Sister Hunter had noticed this guy walking passed our car who as she described "looks kinda sketchy." Well of course I got out of the car to talk to the most sketchy man on the street. After a long conversation with him he said "you guys are brave." I later replied "Scotty, be brave" and I handed him a Book of Mormon. Scotty said he will have to give us a call to meet up!

On today's agenda we get to go bowling as a zone and I have a essay to write for school so life's great!

The rest of the week and all the in betweens is history! Things have been hard but I'm grateful for those I have around me! I am grateful for the gospel and the change it has done for me. We can only strive to be like our Savior and Father in Heaven as we live the gospel everyday of our lives.

Keep the faith and have a wonderful week! Love you all 🖤

Week 56

*Talking about Sister Decker when I was trained* President: "She loved you even when you were a pain." Sister Wadsworth: "Hey don't say that!" President: *laughs* "Sister Miles and I go way back."

Hello family and friends! Wow what a crazy and tiring past couple of days it has been! Sister Hunter and I have been working hard! Even with all the crazy snow and wind we are still out and knocking doors!

Well I sent Sister Mounteer off Wednesday morning (we had to get up at 4) for transfers! It was sad but we had such a blast together! I spent the day in a trio with Sister Ryan and Sister Hughes and we partied it up! Later that evening I went to pick up Sister Hunter and we went on with our day.

We have been doing a heck lot of finding this past week and a good amount of people set up appointments with us! This week we have alot of appointments and things to do so it's going to be busy! We have seen Randy (another investigator on date) alot and he's so sweet he gave us a gift he got from a bible store!

We got the opportunity to speak at a baptism for two little girls in another ward so we got to go up to the heights! Later that night when we were out contacting people we slid into this huge snow bank and had to have the elders come get us out. Always an adventure in missionary life!

We had a great turn out of members returning to activity show up for church and one of our investigators Carol came! It was exciting! We had a long day yesterday but Sundays are always the best. We are currently teaching these two sweet girls Heidi and Hailey. We put them both on date to be baptized March 3rd so we have been over at their house going through the lessons! They both are so excited to be baptized!

Y'all remember Shane one of my recent converts? Well he got his patriarchal blessing and now has the melchizedek preisthood! Yay!

Today Sister Hunter and I get to help clean the temple so we are pumped! I hope all of you have a wonderful week!

Keep the faith.

Love,
Sister Austin Miles

Week 55 and Turned 21 on my Mission Yep!

"Hey, be the Oliver Cowdry to my Jospeh Smith and write my weekly."

Hey hey hey! How is everyone doing? We got transfer news and Sister Mounteer will be leaving and getting doubled into Anaconda (I'm so jealous) and I will be staying and training a new missionary! Her name is Sister Hunter! Please pray for me because I'm nervous as heck!

Weather update:There is so much snow! We are currently driving a Chevy Malibu and it is not fit for snow but we are managing! Our car is in the shop once again for the fourth time! The elders were nice enough to hand a car off to us so God bless those hooligans.

We recently have had miracles of finally having more people to teach! Two families that are returning to activity have a child that has not been baptized yet but want the lessons! They are the ages 9 & 10! I am so excited, I love teaching part member families.

We got our carpets cleaned in the apartment after the flooding so that was a blessing! We deep cleaned our apartment so good too!

We did alot of service this past week and it was the best! We created "blessing bags" and it is the best idea ever! Go look on my Facebook to see! (Also add me on Facebook! It's just under Austin Miles, my missionary one!)

I had such a great birthday! Thank you all who sent your love to me! We got to have lunch with the sisters at Cafe Rio and it was the bomb. I opened all of my gifts and created a mess! I was holding strong for a good while but then I broke down in tears because of how much I missed everyone! I love you all. We got to have dinner with the Zullos and every time I am around them, I can feel the spirit so strong. They are such amazing people. They made a birthday cake and cooked a bunch of different foods that I love! I'll attach pictures below :) I love them more than words can express! We also had to go to the office to pick up a few things and nothing beat President Wadsworth singing Happy Birthday to me (he's such a dork).

Okay here comes the sad part...SOME OF MY FRIENDS WENT HOME. When I was saying bye to Sister Christensen she poked my eye and actually caused me to bleed after scratching me with her nail, so I will never forget that goodbye. Least to say I am extremely sad because I loved her so much! She is definitely one I can relate to. Sister Kezele went home as well and she was there right when I came in and I always admired her. Sister Ashcroft went home and I had a blast serving around her in Great Falls! My favorite quote from her when Sister Decker and I were together is "this companionship scares me." Sister Miller went home as well and what a rockstar she is! We had such a fun exchange when I was in Helena! Lastly one of our zone leaders headed home and he's a homie. I am grateful for all of these people that have played a role in my life and that have taught me something. After our district meeting we all went to the temple together as a zone and took pictures (and yes I did cry in district meeting.)

I love how the church has unity and that were family. Wherever you go, whatever lds church you attend around the world, it's always true and the people

I love each and every one of you. You are amazing! Keep the faith.

(I'll send more pictures later)
